Busayo Disu is a pharmacist, AI data specialist, and cultural inclusion advocate.
As an African immigrant and the President of the Africans Society of Strathcona County, Busayo has seen firsthand the silent struggles and untold stories of immigrant families navigating various unfamiliar terrains within Canada. Rather than stay silent, she chose to turn those struggles into a mission.
Through storytelling, cultural education, and meaningful dialogues, Busayo helps communities break down stereotypes, spark empathy, and celebrate cultural diversity with pride and purpose.
Busayo’s leadership has empowered educators, students, staff, policymakers and employers in various cities in Alberta including Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, Vegreville, Camrose, Leduc, St Albert, Calgary and Edmonton.
Her groundbreaking work has earned her the NorQuest College Community Leader Award, Star of Alberta Volunteer Certificate Award, Women in STEM Scholarship recognition, AfroCaribbean Artist of the year, and Strathcona County Award of Excellence.
